Great Ellingham Post Office. Photograph taken c.1990
From the Lynn Advertiser of the 13th January, 1976:
Storm Bird A TAME MAGPIE arrived at Great Ellingham Post Office during the recent storm and has stayed with the postmaster. He is looking after it until it is claimed.
I believe the ‘postmaster’ at the time was Charles Chattle, who lived with his wife and children on the premises. I wonder if the ‘tame magpie’ was ever claimed!
